Basilica Squares

Ingredients

Bottom layer:
1 1/2 cups (375 ml) graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup (125 ml) melted margarine
1 tbsp (15 ml) granulated sugar
Second layer:
1 can condensed milk
1 cup (250 ml) dessicated coconut
1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla
pinch salt
Butter icing:
2 tbsp (30 ml) cocoa
2 tbsp (30 ml) milk
1 1/2 cups (375 ml) sifted icing sugar
1/4 cup (65 ml) soft butter

Directions

Preheat oven to 350F
1. Mix bottom layer ingredients and press firmly into a greased, 9" square pan.
2. Mix together ingredients for the second layer and spread over bottom layer.
3. Bake thirty minutes at 350F or until top is golden brown
4. Cool thoroughly
5. Mix icing ingredients and spread.
