Nutmeg Cookies

Ingredients

2 2/3 cups flour
¾ tsp salt
¼ tsp salt
1 cup butter or margarine
¾ cup sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla

Directions


  1. Sift together flour, nutmeg and salt

  2. Cream butter, gradually add sugar, cream until fluffy

  3. Beat in egg and vanilla

  4. Stir in flour mixture

  5. On lightly floured surface, shape dough into ropes and cut into pieces (about 1½ - 2 inches long)

  6. Bake at 350°F for 12 - 15 minutes

  7. Allow to cool and, if desired, frost with Creamy Butter Frosting placed in an icing bag
