Apple Batter Pudding

Ingredients

Enough apples, (about 6) peeled, cored and sliced, to fill a baking dish about ¾ full
1 egg
1 cup white sugar
½ cup milk
½ cup butter
2 tsp. baking powder
2 cups flour
cinnamon and extra sugar

Directions

Place apples in a baking dish (approximately 8" square)
Sprinkle apples with cinnamon and extra sugar to taste
Cream butter and 1 cup sugar
Add egg, then milk gradually
Mix flour and baking powder together and add to batter, mixing well
Drop batter on top of apples and spread to cover
Sprinkle with cinnamon and extra sugar to taste
Bake in hot oven (425°F until done, about 45 minutes
Test as you would for a cake with a toothpick
Serve hot with milk, cream or ice cream.
