Poppy Seed Salad Dressing

Ingredients

1/2 cup (125 mL) granulated sugar
6 tbsp. (100 mL) white vinegar
2 1/2 tbsp. (37 mL) cooking oil
1 tsp. (5 mL) onion flakes
1/2 tsp. (2 mL) dry mustard
1/2 tsp. (2 mL) salt
1/4 tsp. (1 mL) paprika
2 1/2 tsp. (12 mL) poppy seeds

Directions

Combine the ingredients. Beat well until thoroughly mixed. Let stand in refrigerator overnight. Yield: 2/3 cup or 150 mL (8 servings)
We usually use cider vinegar which may give it a darker tone. Sometimes we squeeze in some tomato catsup (ketchup).
